In the center of Athens at Monastiraki, an old yard built 2 centuries ago is being revealed from within its body of stone. The yard - existing as a collective memory through the black/white movies of the 50’s and 60’s - included for decades, small workshops that repaired radios, frames, metal appliances, small furniture and chandeliers, but also functioned as storage space for bookshops. For years the sound of the workshops had silenced, the original structure, preserved; the spaces hold their aesthetics and their original story.

12 contemporary recognized Greek artists are called upon to interact and add their own athenian story to these spaces. The area is once again brought to life; the new stories and the new audience will add their own stigma. The spaces within the yard are handed over to the artists so as they may create in situ, their own athenian stories.
